The basics of our company is looking back to end of ’80s into a flat’s basement in Debrecen where – as student interested in electronics and controlling technics – met first with relay controlled elevator cabinet manufacturing. These times got the idea to plan an electronic elevator control cabinet. During design the controller, It was important to get more experiences in real environments with it’s own specialities regarding the occurring, possible errors. I could get this experience at Defilift Kft. (today OTIS). Special thanks for Sándor Kricsfalusi and László Kelemen, who helped improving my knowledge with their professional support. The first control cabinet got ready in 1992, which was planned as for „personal use”. This time, it was not possible to set the controller’s parameters on sight, just was planned as single call APB system, but it already have a text based display in hungarian language which provided the most important informations for maintenance.

In the last years, the ECU elevator controller and it’s components were completely renewed. Developed a serial – LBUS – communication between the controller, the car and shaft units. With LBUS it’s enough to use a single 24 flat elevator cable between the machine room and the car. For connecting the COPs and LOPs it’s enough to use a single telephone cable. Connected to LBUS system, We developed our own COPs and LOPs which contain dot matrix display and touch sensor, without any mechanical buttons.

One of the main aspect of designing the currently manufactured ECU controller board was, to be able to serve the Hungarian elevator market, to set up simply, and the mechanic do not require any programming skills or special tools/units. Thanks to the simple programability and mechanic friendly menu system, it became a successful product quickly. Several controller manufacturer have installed it instead of foreign boards. ( Lifon [Horváth] , CS&F-Lift [Csaplár] ) The controller board is capable to control the single speed, two speed, hydraulic and frequency inverter driven elevators.

Based on experiences we were able to increase the warranty time from 1 year to 5 years. In addition to the production of the control board, we started to produce complete controller cabinets. Since the controller board is our own product – including the developement and production – we can build it in at a favorable, „producer” price – resulting, we can produce it at a very reasonable price even with the use of quality building elements.
